Michelangelo Jr.

You know you want to join one of my art classes!
We became Michelangelo... well, we tried. I made the classes crawl under the tables and paint as Michelangelo did when painting the Sistine Chapel. Our paintings may not be like his, but I think they are priceless!

A Little Cake

Yummy! I call it French Chocolate Mocha Cake. The best thing is it's WHEAT FREE! Score! I wish I could give you a slice, but I'm not so sure how I'd mail it ;)

Stepping Out

So Nathan is being put more and more in the public forum... I never know what is going to come out of his mouth! Haha! This is when he was speaking about his latest project.

Now if he could only learn to brush his teeth and hair the right way... ;)

You should meet...

...my other dog Bandit.

"I'm in love with my family! They feed me, pet me, let me help them pick up sticks (even though I never bring them back to them, for they always throw them away!) and I even get to tear up a scarecrow every time the leaves start to fall! It's a good life compared to before I met them. Now I'll never leave them!" -- (Bandit, if he could say it.)

This poor, unfortunate soul came to our house three years ago and somehow he never left. As my father said, "He stole our reluctant hearts," so we just had to name him Bandit.

He's a funny little fellow! He enjoys sleeping on his back, he plays hide-and-go-seek, and he is always trying to live up to Blacky's standards, but he is the most love'n-on-you dog you'll ever meet!

Tasty Little Salad & Great Little Doc.

My guilty salad, I call this. Yes, I could do worse, but the good-for-you just doesn't cover the bad. I love Asian food and this is my home fix when I can't go out.

Drum roll, please.................................

Nathan completed his recent project! It has been sent to C-Span, and it's now totally in the Lord's hands! Let me know what you think!

Nail Polish, Shampoo, Mouthwash, Soap

After reorganizing our bathroom today, I must say that the average American family has WAY too many items to "groom" themselves.

We each "need" 4 types of brushes, two kinds of toothpaste, an endless selection of shampoos, and conditioners, and lotions, AND hair sprays! Think of all the products you use just on a simple day out and all the products that are lost in the back of your cabinets...

Let's think... if you could only have 5 items for a week and those were the ONLY things you could use, then what would those items be for you???

Confession...

...I'm a big reader. Not a Kindle book reader, but the books that have that bookish smell! If the book is a hardback, then that is a double score! I take on too many books at one time and it's not a good idea to let me loose in a library. (Really not a good idea at all.) But what can I say? There's too many choices out there!!!!

Here are some of my top books I've had my nose in lately.

These are truly just a very few I'm reading! I would highly recommend all of them! Reading is a gift we so often throw away. This week if you feel overwhelmed, my advice is turn off the TV and computer (yes, stop reading my blog. ;), and pick up a real book. The side effects might make you more relaxed and gain more knowledge.

Cold

Still freezing!!! Oh my, I'm not sure I'll ever be warm again!

You should meet...

...Blacky! The imperial queen of all marvelous mutts! We've had her since her birth and she'll be eight years old on Groundhog Day. I'm pretty sure she would be on the top ten list of the smartest dog list. One day she literally insisted on having the air turned on...(long story)

Likes are soft beds, blankets, and ham.
Dislikes are rainy days, plain dog food, and the worst is taking a bath!!!!

She is a perfect diva and I wouldn't have it any other way :)

P.S. So our prayers worked! Little Blacky is doing great. We thought the worst yesterday, but today she's been running around! God is good, even to our little hairy beasts ;)

It Is Magical

And so the snow came... well, it was more like ice, but it was white!! It made for great photos and plenty of laughs!! All roads in the state are closed and the festivities continue tomorrow.

I've never sledded before, so today was pretty epic for me. I may or may not have taken out our fire pit. :} Don't worry, it's easily fixable.

On a sad note, Blacky (my "queen" dog) seems to have taken a bad fall last night on the ice. We'll take her to the vet tomorrow for she seems to have done something to her hip. Poor little dear! She is NOT feeling well at all! Say a little doggy prayer for Blacky!

Happy Winter, Everyone!!

It's Coming!

Well, here down South we don't see a lot of snow, but the forecast says we'll see 4 to 8 inches!!!! (I'll believe it when I see it.) So needless to say, we crazy Southerners run to the store, buy out the milk, and load our buggies (yes, they are called buggies) down, expecting to be stranded for days. So maybe you'll get to see more little snow pics... we'll just have to wait and see!

Oh, and I really want this bag... if only I was rich ;)

I found it here!

Sparklers Anyone?

<

A Happy New Year! As you can see, with friends even a few little sparklers can make an evening magical.

A Thought

Instead of new year resolutions, I choose a theme verse from scripture. This year I feel these are a few goals I should keep in mind.

"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality." ~ ROMANS 12:12,13
